A very successful Men’s Breakfast took place on the 18th February in Saltwood School hall, with numbers attending totalling 86. The guest speaker was our new Rector, the Revd. Stephen McCauley, describing his life as a Military Chaplain with the 36th Royal Engineers Regiment, and the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers. Stephen has been in many areas of military conflict including Iraq, Afghanistan, Cyprus and the Falklands after their recapture.
Stephen described how the regiment became a family for many soldiers and encouraged us to pray for them.
I personally want to thank all those who fell out of bed at an unearthly hour of the morning to come to the school to help with the cooking of our wonderful, full English Breakfast. Plus of course preparing the room, laying tables, clearing away afterwards, and helping with the mountains of washing up. Without them we would be in deep trouble. I wonder if they are as handy around the house at home?? That’s why I won’t mention names!!
My Grateful thanks to everyone, Barrie Marshall
