Ah Ha!
The Treasure Hunt around Lympne was a great success.
However, a rather unsavoury character got involved and tried to kidnap the Vicar!
Well done to everyone involved......
I don’t mean well done for trying to kidnap the Vicar. What I meant was, well done for all the organising etc.........I don’t mean organising the kidnapping ...
I think I’ll stop there.
Harvest Supper

The Barn Dance on Saturday was another great success.
We filled Lympne village hall which was decorated in the Western style, including WANTED posters of some very dubious characters! In addition, there was bunting and bales of straw.
Our guests quickly rose to the occasion and started dancing to the music of ‘Grass Roots” and learned new dances with the help of the Dance Caller. Apparently we were “quick learners”!
There were raffles and prizes for the best costumes. Many thanks to all who provided these prizes and thank you to everyone who came on the night. We hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Here are some photos of the night’s entertainment.
Finally, many thanks to all the organisers, raffle ticket sellers, advertisers.
Without you, the evening would not have been the success it was. Well done!
It’s happened again!
The church was full,
to hear Canon John Wright give an organ recital to ‘break-in’ the new organ.
Many thanks to John for filling the church with music and thank you to those who attended for just filling the church!
The recital was excellent, with a lovely programme; some light hearted music and some serious.
Canon John is an excellent organist and entertainer. Everyone enjoyed the music, the wine and the conversation during the interval. It was a lovely atmosphere, very sociable.
Donations came to around £325; a very successful evening.
Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th May
Art Exhibition, Book Sale
& Plant & Flower Sale
with Children’s Corner
After a terrific team effort by the Events committee the weekend event started.
Around 200 people attended the exhibitions.
Books, there were hundreds and hundreds of
them, encouraged people to browse and read
and eventually buy.
The Art Exhibition was fantastic. There were twelve different artists exhibiting,
with a wonderful variety of subjects.
Cups of tea were available all day and people were having to decide whether to have
cake or a scones & cream as well.
The whole atmosphere was buzzing, very friendly and lively. - one big social event.
A big thank you to everyone who attended this event.
We raised a staggering £1000
Sunday 29th June
GARDEN SAFARI
Organised jointly by:
Lympne Village Hall and
St. Stephen’s Refurbishment project.
This event was another great success. We all had a wonderful day and everyone did a grand job with their gardens.
It was a lovely event, with a large number of visitors enjoying themselves and they were very complimentary about the gardens they visited. Each garden was different, which made it more interesting.
Refreshments were available in some gardens while in others various things were sold. It was like one big garden party. It was a good social event which raised £448, which will be shared equally between the Church and the Village Hall.
A good community effort! And the weather was perfect too!!!
