NEWS FROM THE BELFREY
The current band at St. Stephen's was formed three years ago when we began ringing regularly for Sunday Services and weddings. It has been a lot of fun and a lot of hard work along the way, but we are very pleased to be able to make the following announcement:
A quarter peal of 1260 changes of Plain Bob Doubles was rung half muffled on the 11th day of the 11th month 2008 to mark the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice.
1. Kate Felce               4. Mavis Chapman
2. Annie Anderson       5. Brian Butcher, conductor
3. Clio Hart                  6. John East
Rung during the district quarter peal week. This was the first quarter for John East, the first inside for Annie Anderson and the first quarter by the current local band and took 47 minutes to ring.
A quarter peal of 1260 changes of Grandsire doubles was rung on 13th November, 2008.
1. Christine Butcher      4. Mavis Chapman
2. Clio Hart                  5. Brian Butcher, conductor
3. Ivan Hart                  6. Keith Finch
Rung during the district quarter peal week by the regular local band.
